This course provides a general understanding of economic systems and economic analysis, with an emphasis on the operation of the U.S. economy. Topics include national income accounting, employment, inflation, monetary and fiscal policies, aggregate demand and supply analysis, economic growth, the monetary aspect of international economics, and comparative economic systems. To satisfy the First Year Data and Society requirement, this course emphasizes the construction and use of data in macroeconomic analysis through lectures and homework assignments.
